Music, Music, Music!

I began my piano studies at the age of 6 and have been successfully teaching lessons since 1983.  I served as the choir director of the New Brighton Methodist Church from 1984-1988 and as the organist/choir director of the Mars United Methodist Church from 1988-2006.  I currently serve as the Director of Music Ministries at the Bakerstown United Methodist Church, Gibsonia, PA, where I have been on staff since December of 2006.  My membership with the Ellwood City Area Civic Chorale began in 1980 and the Director's position was acquired in 1993.Professional affiliations include the Opus I Music Society, The National Federation of Music Clubs, The American College of Musicians, The American Guild of English Handbell Ringers and the American Choral Directors' Association.  I serve as an adjudicator for Junior Festival evaluations both in PA and OH, compose music when time allows and  keep up-to-date on the latest pedagogy trends.

I am married, have four adult children and have lived in the Mars area since 1984.  Other than music activities, I love to read, write poetry, bake, hike and trout fish!  My intention is to nurture every student's self-esteem by providing the very best music education which my abilities will allow within a caring, Christian framework. I take great pride in what I do and my reputation is only as good as the students I produce.  By working together, we can make music a gift that will truly keep on giving throughout an entire lifetime!
